Title: Eagle

Jurors Scores Critiques
Ann Alimi 7.5 Image has good sharpness and nicely exposed. Generally cutting off the bird near the legs is not recommended.

Best to either show the entire bird and leave room at the top so the head doesn’t touch the border or crop much closer for an impactful head shot.

Kerri-Jo Stewart 8 Strong portrait of a Red-Tailed Hawk. Nice depth of field and the bird all in focus.

To bring more emphasis to the eye by slightly highlighting the irises would draw attention directly to the head.

Getting technical, the slight blowout of the highlight on the upper chest could also be fixed.

Note: Bird ID is important for nature competitions.

Leah Gray 7 There is good detail in this beautiful bird. The eye is sharp with a glint of light.

The cut off head and legs is disconcerting. Consider including more of the bird’s body or crop closer for a head shot.

Eliminate the bright leaves on the right and darken the background on the left.

Total Score: 22.5
