There are some hotspots on image, green of head, white of neck, white on beak. Sun is a bit harsh on the subject.
Good sharpness and saturation. The water ripples adds to the interest. Nice catchlight on eye.

Nice image with beautiful colours. The greens and yellows make the shot.
For a competition it could be strengthened by taking out the blown-out reflection and strengthening the colours just a bit.
If there is detail in the dark neck that should also be brought out. Shooting in overcast conditions and early morning and evenings can also bring out colours and more details.

The iridescent of a male Mallard duck’s head has been well caught in this image.
Getting a lower angle on this subject would give us a better connection with the duck, as well as some better bokeh in the background.
There are distractions in the upper left corner.
