Title: Victory Day

Jurors Scores Critiques
Richard Shapka 7 Exposure for the image is even; good if this is what the maker intended. Presented in portrait mode, and cropped so the sculpture is seemingly blowing the horn towards the open air is good composition. Focus is good.

To improve the image, it is suggested that the horn figure be in complete silhouette (completely black) so the viewer would not see the attachment. This can be done by spot metering when making the picture or in post processing now (with a curves layer to darken using a reveal all layer mask on everything except the horn player).

The maker should bring out some detail in the sky (in CS using a New Layer, brushing with black at 4% opacity … the clouds can be darkened to provide some context to the sky.

Kerri-Jo Stewart 5 Good technically
Nice composition but needs something extra in frame to make an impact for a competition.

Henry Schnell 7.5 Good placement of silhouette. Clouds have lots of detail if adjusted and this could be a dramatic image.

Total Score: 19.5
