It is not sharp enough though and also don’t cut off a face half way: beak off the baby on the right bottom and head of the one on the left top.

A few of the eyes would be stronger with the highlight (maybe add for an open competition).
The crop choice is interesting and if it is intentional adds tension by cutting off the ducklings. But in general that should be avoided if possible, especially for a competition.

Why can resist fuzzy ducklings? These ducks are all in focus, and the maker has gotten quite low to capture them.
Eliminating a portion of the top edge would strengthen the image. The lower right duckling has lost his bill. Is it recoverable? Darken the duckling on the left edge. The image could be brightened slightly.
