Ahmad Ammar, one of the famous names of carpet weaving in Iran,
was born in 1908 in Tabriz. He was familiar with weaving
since he was a high school student. One afternoon, after
school, when he visited a weaving workshop and weavers of
a friend, he was Fascinated; so that, he started weaving
and continued very seriously, with help of his master,
during his education and even after his military service.
For
a while, he studied the great master "Sheikh Hassan
Haddad's" experiences. After that period, he studied
different aspects of weaving, like wool, dyeing, painting,
designing, images creating and loom preparation.
He
attended also the great master "Mir Mossavvar
Arzhangi's" training courses on designing.
Simplicity
of design, peaceful painting and fine weaving are among
the particularities of Ahmad Ammar's work. He believes,
that nowadays technology has taken away the human peace,
so using mild designs and colors in rugs could be helpful.
