Assad-abad

Carpet weaving looms of this region, are stayed mostly in villages.

Looms are Tabriz typed with wrap turner and sometimes with Persian looms (sewing wrap).

Woven is usually with hook and single-weft, good carpets, sometimes with double-weft.

Recognized designs of Assad-Abad are:

cashmere
tajiabad
molhem
angelas
Hossein-abad

Some of them, such as pretty design of Molhem and Hossein-abad (fish) have universal fame.

Their sizes are usually 2 zar, zar and half, zar and quarter, 300x80 cm (120x32 in) or 200x80 cm (80x32 in), and scarcely 6 sq. meters.
