From long time ago, England and its people were famous for having
spinning factories and interest in handicrafts.
In this country, carpet and weaving have historical and traditional
aspects.
In 16th century AD, after entering of Iranian, Indian and
Turkish carpets to this country, this industry flourished and became
common. But in 19th century AD, because of the low prices
of hand-made Iranian carpets and also development of machine-made
carpet’s workshops in England, carpet weaving lost its previous
flourish.
Nowadays English carpets are limited to a few rugs.
