Joy McDonell
Photographer
Ottawa, Canada

Member of The Canadian Association for Photographic Arts (CAPA)
Editor-in-chief of The Canadian Camera Magazine

Joy McDonell is originally from Montreal, Canada, and has a background in teaching English and in managing and editing of publications. She came to photography in the mid-1980's, and became active with the RA Photo Club in Ottawa, Canada's capital city.

She met her husband Bill at the club, and they have had many rewarding years doing nature and travel photography. Joy has recently made the switch to digital photography, but is spending less time in the field. Her creative spirit has recently branched out to embrace work with minerals and metals to produce jewelry.

Joy is in her fourth year as editor-in-chief of Canadian Camera, the quarterly magazine of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA). She very much enjoys the opportunity to promote and publish the work of CAPA members.
