Jim Gladden explains that as a 'beachcomber personality' , he likes to "...explore and find unique objects in a beautiful environment".
As he cruises the beach or stands before a blank surface, he searches for something that he hasn't seen before.
Avoiding brush marks, he he a collection of 'texture making things' to initiate unique patterns and rhythms.
He starts his painting as a sensual exploration of the eye.
