Fattaneh Zahraie
Potter & Ceramicist
Iran

Born in September 1950
member of ceramic society of Iran

I am working and residing in Tehran, Iran. My key to success is finding both practical and decorative uses of this traditional art. Producing relief carved and handmade tiles is my main activity. Beside that, I teach glaze, ceramic and pottery to children and adults in private or group classes. I like to transmit my feeling and experience by teaching the art of life via art of ceramic and vice versa.

I have a diploma of secretary and I used to be an official clerk until “Earth” changed my life. I discovered my talents and undeveloped skills in 1993, when I met my first ceramic teacher, Babak Daleki. During our three years of collaboration, he inspired me to become a self-taught and self-motivated artist. In 1996, I started my own artistic carrier. Many peoples especially my friend, Fakhri Golestan, encouraged me to overcome the obstacles.
