Fall 2005 in Regina , Saskatchewan.
Val is an active volunteer in the Canadian Association for Photographer Art and serves as National President on the Board of Directors. Val’s unique photographic style has been influenced by her career in counseling therapy and an interest in the relationships between people and their community.
Advocating a distinctive approach to photographic style, her experience with wide-angle lenses and the use of
juxtaposition of subjects combine with saturated
colors to create bold images. A desire for spontaneity brings a hint of
real life into her photographs. Unusual framing and angles add mood to ordinary scenes. Val prefers photographic prints. She uses 35 mm equipment and saturated slide films but has discovered the benefits of digital and her newer work takes advantage of the benefits of digital processing.
Val Davison enjoys presenting a personal interpretation
in her work, vivid and imaginative. Val’s images are often described as distinctive
and one of kind. Her Digital Slide Shows are noted for animation
effects. She plans for viewers to reflect upon the intended meaning of the work presented.

Arts Workshops at UBC in Kelowna, at Delta artShots and at national and regional photo conferences and camera
