in Madrid, 1934
He
studied in Fine Arts School in Madrid.
Orcajo’s
painting is visibly, although only visibly and distantly
at that, similar to “metaphysical painting”.
He paints huge empty spaces of suburban and industrial
geometrical constructions. Admittedly one cannot discount
the geometrical penetration they contain, yet it is not
the soul of this geometry that prevails: it is the
painter’s criticism of solitude in the immensely
inhabited world of the big city.
It might be described as a criticism of the
de-civilization of the city in its present state.
