Canogar
Born
in 1935, Todelo
He
trained to be a painter under guidance of Vaquez Diaz,
working in Latters Studio.
At
a very early age he acquired skills as a painter that
enabled him to launch upon the highways of the abstract,
especially those of non-formalist abstract. He was an
integral member of the set of artists that formed the
“El Paso” group.
At that time, he made several trips and held exhibitions
in different parts of Europe. Later on, wishing to give
content to his painting, he entered a figurative phase,
characterized by a blending of humor and coherent
expressivities.
He next went to USA, where he worked for a while as a
teacher. On his return he began a new phase, equally
figurative in which two-dimensional painting is given a
certain amount of relief, so as to make the expressivities
at which he is aiming more efficacious.
He has had several exhibitions in Europe and America and
is represented in many of the most important modern art
museums in both continents.
