Hossein Kashian was born in 1942 in Tehran.
After obtaining high school diploma, he managed to graduate from Iranian Calligraphy Association in 1976.
In 1979, High Council of Culture and Art awarded him Art Diploma - Grade 2.

In 2001, he had 40 years experience in Art and has participated in various fields of Miniature, Painting and Calligraphy. He has led artistic life by participating in 56 exhibitions:

-11 individual exhibitions in Iran
-17 group-individual exhibitions in Egypt, Pakistan, Biennale Exhibition of Bangladesh, Biennale Exhibition of Algeria, Paris, Germany, USA, two times in Bosnia and Herzegovina, two times in Switzerland, China and Dubai.
In the first International Biennale Exhibition of Algeria, he won Silver Medal in painting.

He has printed a book of his "Ink Drawings" in Tehran, 1985.

For about two years, he was director of Tehran Contemporary Art Museum.
He has been one of the founders of Iranian Visual Arts and has served as Art Expert in Visual Arts Center of the Ministry of Culture and Higher Education for twelve years.
