Jurors Scores Critiques
Ismail Farahani 6 Framing of the subject is good. While looking in the viewfinder of a camera, we have to examine from the corner to the corner of the frame. There are too many distracting elements in the background, like the light blue gray grid, yellow line on the back of the bird, etc.

Carol How 6 Quite pleasing image with lovely diagonal positioning of this bird on its perch. Due to the direction and angle of light, the beak is a bit over exposed, and some areas of the bokeh are a bit of a distraction.

Adjusting exposure down by even 1/3 of a stop will smooth those out a bit and add a bit more saturation. Its good, especially in very contrasty light, to not rely 100% on in camera metering.

Spot metering may also help with the final exposure. Its also helpful to take a moment to assess the in and out of focus elements, as well as light and dark areas of your image.

Henry Schnell 6 Good exposure of the bird and the cocked head provides some interest. The shallow depth of field makes the bird stand out in the fore ground. The high key elements of the background are distracting as is the cut of the branch.
