Title: Lost Traveller

Jurors Scores Critiques
Kerri-Jo Stewart 6 Nice composition and depth of field. However, the eye is quite dark and the bird really doesn't stand out for a competition image.

Richard Shapka 6.5 There is nice detail in the bird’s tail and wing feathers. The complementary colors of the bird and resting place add to interest. Color of beak makes the bird stand out. All good.
Assuming the bird is the subject, had the bird be looking face forward, it would have scored higher. While not necessary, it is always nice to see some light in the eye.
Background is blurred nicely, so not to be distractive.

Satya Danu 6 Regarding the title, birds have the tendency of perching somewhere – how do you know he is lost? As it turns out, the position of the bird is rather awkward.
We are looking at his back and black ‘bum’; his legs got cut off, and the eye does not have a highlight in it. It is a snapshot – Nature images work best when you take time to set up, and wait for the opportunity to appear.

Total Score: 18.5
