BMW Museum is one of the major attractions of the
cultural city of Munich.
The Bavarian Motor Works look back on more than 80
years of history, which are characterized by great
successes and innovations as well as a wealth of
outstanding achievements. BMW Mobile Tradition
division was founded in 1994 to keep the heritage of
the company, the BMW brand and its vehicles alive. A
listed former industrial building in the north of
Munich has been the headquarters since 1997. It offers
lots of space on 4 expansive floors for the
presentation of the historic vehicle collection, for
offices, the archives and restoration workshop.
Divisions
In the Historic Archive all documents that are of
significance for the history of the company and the
products are collected, archived, presented and
scientifically assessed.
The most important BMW automobiles, motorcycles and
aircraft engines are presented here in front of
suitable backdrops on over 2000 square meters.
The task of vehicle care division is to maintain and
care for the historic vehicle collection. The latter
offers the unique opportunity of experiencing BMW
history at first hand and in the original.
BMW Mobile Tradition makes sure that classic BMW
vehicles all over the world can be maintained and
restored by securing existing parts stock as well as
continuing the production for initiating the
replication of parts.
The marketing and communication division is
responsible for communication, advertising and sales
promotion as well as exhibitions and events. A further
task is to tend to the needs of the international club
scene.
