This museum is located in the historical building of the
Val-de-Grace in Paris. It has been totally rebuilt and its
permanent rooms have recently been reopened (2003).
It shows the history of the French military medical
service, thanks to the presentation of its main missions,
the medical evacuation. The other various components of
the medical service, such as research in war surgery and
psychiatry, sub aquatic and aerospace medicine, or
pharmacology are displayed. Hygiene and prevention of
transmissible disease that have profited of the famous
works of Michel Levy, Fonssagrives, Villemin or Laveran
are shown. One may also discover the marvelous mortars and
pharmacy pots of the doctors Debat.
