Kilim of Harsin and Hamadan

Harsin and Hamadan, on North Kurdistan, are
very active centers of weaving.
Their kilims are outstanding, woven by loose warps and
wefts. Their designs are quite similar to Senneh and Bijar.
Margins are narrow among
whitish crenation.
Important specification are:
Ground Design: Two or three connected medallions.
Margins: Narrow
Size and Feature: Long rectangular.
Materials: Woolen warps, woolen loose weft.
Texture:
Slit weaving, extra curve wefts
Colors: Dark pink, red, yellow, white
Fringes: Uniform.
Selvages: Uniform, limitedly reinforced by supplementary ropes
