Decoration:
First row: On the outside, below the rim, 3
diptychs of Persian poetry are inscribed in Thulth
script. Between every 2 diptychs, a seated human
figure is framed within circle;
Second row: Band of flowers alternating facing
upward and downward;
Third row: Intersecting circles, to which vertical
joined lines are connected. The base of the vessel
is also decorated with jagged lines and vegetal
patterns. Such techniques as incision, carving and
inlay with silver have been used in its
decoration.
Patina: Glossy black patches and wart-like
green and dark brown corrosion. |
