Siah-darreh,
Guilan, 1966
9-10th century AD
Height: 6 cm (2.4 in)
Rim diameter: 12.7 cm (5.08 in)
Decoration: Vertical grooves on the body and rim's
crenellations prolonging them make for the
goblet's appearance of an eight-petals flower.
Patina: The body's patina appears as wart-like
green corrosion and glossy black stained patches,
fully comparable with patina of other brass
objects. That of the handle appears as a greenish
layer typical of low tin bronze. This difference
of patina types clearly shows the difference of
alloys between handle and body. |
