Tous' Wall
Wall or the fence of Tous is a massive wall made up of
sun-dried brick and clay with six km long, which had
surrounded Tous and had saved the city from enemy
invasion.
The thickness of wall, on the earth surface is 6 m, and
2.5 m on the upper parts.
This fence, in the time of construction, contained 9 games
and 106 towers, of which 6 gates could be distinguished.
The circular fence around Tous can give the pattern of
ancient Iranian cities.
Clear repair signs on some parts of the wall and existence
of bits of pottery in the wall cavities, tell the story of
its repetitive destruction and renovations.
This fence was repaired, for the last time, around 15th
century AD in Timurid era.
