This religious complex is located 24 km East of Neishabour, on the road from Neishabour to Meshed.

It was probably a guide-tower flanking a caravansary.

Owing to the trip of Imam Reza to Tous and in memory of him, it was called "Qadamgah", meaning monument.

It was enlarged in the Safavid era and some verandas, platforms and caravansaries was added to it.
