Toroq Prayer-House (Toroq Mosalla)
This structure, which was constructed for celebration and
Friday Prayer ceremonies, is located in South-east of
Meshed, in Toroq Village, 10 km to Meshed in the past.
Mosalla contains a central high terrace with two small
terraces on the sides, with booths built on the top,
displaying them as two-floored. In the end of terrace, a
four-sided dome room, with an altar, is located on its end
wall.
Despite of its thick walls and deep wide foundations, it
has been damaged on many occasions. In 1900, its dome
collapsed, but later repaired.
The building is constructed from brick and covered with a
cornice in Thulth script, which circulates inside the
terrace. Decorations of this building are restricted to
plaster casts, which existed on the roof of terrace.
Toroq Mosalla is of great importance in the study and use
of Timurid architecture.
