Brick Dome (Gonbad Kheshti)
The tomb, "Gonbad Kheshti", is situated in Noqab
St. and known as "Imam-zadeh Mohammad", who is
the 18th descendent of Imam Zeinolabedin.
It contains two architecturally dissimilar, but connected
areas, where the main area under the dome is four-terraced
and square, while the entrance is rectangular.
On the top of the main hall, an egg-shaped dome is
constructed and decorated with white, black and turquoise
colored tiles. The dome stem has various windows, in order
to provide the light inside.
During the time, tiles on the dome have fallen and bricks
underneath have appeared and perhaps this the reason of
its name.
Inside view is very attractive, covered with Arabesque,
Flower and Leaf designs. Space under the dome is decorated
with plaster-work and stalactites. On the top of ornaments
hangs, which has radii going through the stalactites on to
the walls and creating an attractive view.
