Playas |
Besides Varadero, Cuba boats many other islands reefs
and islets that offer the visitor excellent
virgin beaches, some known, others still to be
discovered. A few miles from Havana’s
downtown are the Playa del Este. Always
overflowing with the happy noise of thousands
of people, they extend all the way from Alamar
to Jibacoa, near the border of Matanzas
province.
There are beaches full of people, and others
that are practically empty, so one always has
the choice between lots of company or an
intimate escape. For intimacy, the ideal beach
is Playa Esmeralda, full of beautiful natural
landscapes, in the north of eastern province
Holguin.
In Trinidad, there is Caleta Buena, three
natural pools of blue waters, where friendly
tropical fish swim around the bathers, only 4
miles from Playa Giron.
We can’t forget to mention the beach at
Punta del Este, on the southern island of
Juventus, nor Bibijaguas, with its black-sand
beaches and history of enchantment and
legends. Or there are always the beaches of
Levisa and Paraiso Keys in western province of
Pinar del Rio, Where Ernest Hemingway used to
take refuge to enjoy its romance and write a
few of the pages that eventually became
classics of literature. |
